I use G29 and it works pretty well. But i heard Fanatec is a lot more better. T is a problemful wheel and my friend owns it he often has problems and it heats up a lot.

I'd say Fanatec. Sparky View Profile View Posts. T is a very good wheel. Sniffle View Profile View Posts. Fanatec all day long ok they are a pain with so many settings and it may take a while to get it set how you like it but once you get there its great.

But i got the brake mod kits to make them even better. Barricade View Profile View Posts. I've returned all the other wheels. The G is a great starter wheel to get you into the game. Just looking at the setup I could tell it was an upgrade.

I fell in love with the TH8. The FFB was tight and strong- and the coggyness of the gears that I'd felt from the G was minimized significantly. This entire time, while looking at reviews for different wheels- I'd never heard of the name Fanatec.

When I watched those videos- just looking at the materials that they used, I assumed the prices were way out of my league. So I sent that back. The CSL Elite was a little smoother. The pedals were a huge upgrade of the TRS pedals. You can just look at them and tell they're solid as a rock.

The upgraded steering wheel and some of the same components used in their flagship V2. Unfortunately after waiting for a week or two with no news- I broke down and got the V2. This setup will arrive in about a week and a half from now. I think all the wheels are good for what you're paying for them. I know Fanatec had some quality control issues years ago- and they turned a lot of consumers away for that.

I've also heard that Thrustmaster made a few bad batches more recently of their T's. So long as you buy it new- and you have their warranty, you should be ok though.Racing wheels have likely been experienced by most readers of this review in arcades, if not from previous in-home experience. Most of the arcade racers deploy some similar concepts, like force feedback and vibration, but do so with more simplistic execution than what modern racing wheels market.

The G29 is an attempt at bringing high-quality, simulation-ready racing into the home. In this review of the Logitech G29 Driving Force racing wheel, we'll talk motors, belts and gears, game compatibility, build quality, and playability.

There aren't many high-end racing wheels on the market. It's a niche segment and good products have a high bill of materials cost compared against more standard peripherals. Support for PC is retained on the G Let's go through the differences of these two same-brand products before diving into the full review and cross-brand comparisons.

Logitech's G27 racing wheel came out in The G27 has the same overall wheel size as the G29 x x mm HWLsimilar stitching, the same wheel geometry and grip points, and the same pedal platform. The most immediate items of note differentiating the G27 and G29 are as follows:.

These are the differences. For the rest, owners of the G27 can expect much the same overall look and feel. The underlying mechanics still utilize a helical gearing system for the rotation and offer the same gritty, tactile feel.

Logitech's implementation of an upgraded encoder and hall-effect sensors theoretically improves accuracy of wheel calibration, though we suspect that the greater benefit will emerge in endurance testing.

Hall-effect sensors use electromagnetics to establish orientation and positional tracking, a task completed using optical sensors in other wheel sets.

Most high-end wheels have made the move to hall-effect sensors. Racing wheels of this grade are intended for the enthusiast. Price immediately puts the wheel in rivalry with entire budget PC buildsbut that's not the only restriction — there are hidden costs. Deploying a racing wheel requires something to which the wheel can stably mount.

A light folding table, for instance, would not work given the aggression with which force feedback operates. Ideally, you end up with some sort of racing seat that's got mounting bars like the Playseat for a wheel and pedals, but not everyone's got room for that. Logitech's build quality is superb. The wheel is outfitted with hand-stitched leather and offers the texture, grip, and feel of a real car wheel. There's some disconnect in the size difference — Logitech's wheel is a fair bit more compact than what you'd find in your car — but that's something we can look past for easier stowing.

The wheel surpasses some nearby competitors that use rubbery grips, which grow hot and uncomfortable in long sessions. We found the leather to breathe well while offering a true-to-life grip. The flappy paddle shifters offer sequential double-clutch style shifting, though a clutch pedal and shift stick are available separately we did not test these.

Flappy paddle shifting is clicky and resolute with thanks to the use of metal for the shifters. There's no doubt when a shift has been made.

Rotation of the wheel is relatively smooth, but not nearly as smooth as a belt-drive wheel would offer. This is potentially one of the downsides of the Logitech G29, but it ultimately depends on user preference.Home Discussions Workshop Market Broadcasts. Change language. Install Steam. Store Page. Which one should I go for as a first time buyer of a wheel I don't want anything too expensive so I can get a feel for it until i make upgrades thanks in advance.

Comes with two toylike pedals. I then picked up a G29 which is a lot better, sturdy, works out of the box. I now have the Shifter to go with the 3 pedals and have no problems to date but I have stretched a rubber band around the stick to stiffen up the shift.

The T is boxed up, sitting in the corner, I'm going to give it to someone, I would not resell. I thought I may have been unlucky and got a dummy T but teh net reveals similar instances. Last edited by Boneboys ; 8 Mar, am. I had a Logitech G27 for years and it got heavy use. Still worked like new when I sold it upgraded to a Fanatec setup.

If budget is limited and you are stuck between the T and a G29, I'd take the G29 all day long. Out of the box, the G29 has better pedals than the T, and also has a shifter. Originally posted by craigh :. Aside from the likes of more expensive setups offered by Fanatec, I'm shooting for a T myself. Highly doubt it is still that cheap for package, as the pre-order date has passed.

But, what is the best racing wheel on the market right now? Well, we here at TechRadar have gathered up all the best racing wheels you can buy today. For years Logitech made virtually the default console race wheels - the Logitech G25 and G27 were crackers. That comes with good and bad parts. First, the G29 is a lot more affordable than the direct Thrustmaster alternatives, the T series wheels. The quality of the wheel itself is great too.

Fanatec and Thrustmaster charge a lot more for leather wheels. The Logitech G29 gets you higher-end extras at no extra cost. Its pedal board is much better than anything else at the price too, with a board that has a clutch and very solid metal plates.

G29 or G920... Which one is the best to play on PC?

There is one reason to prefer a Thrustmaster wheel, though. The Logitech wheels still use a completely gear-based system for their force feedback rather than belts. Like it's PS4 counterpart, the G is more affordable than Thrustmaster wheels but still boasts great quality. However it also comes with the same downfall of being a bit nosier than most wheels on the market. What makes the Thrustmaster T RS one of the best racing wheels is the improved force feedback system.

Any force feedback wheel will add a whole new dimension of fun to reasonably realistic racing games like Forza Motorsport and Driveclub, but at the price these Thrustmasters are the obvious choice. The steering wheel is solid and very grippy, but uses a rubber grip rather than a leather one. Many people will be fine with the material, but after using the G29 we did miss the feel a little. The pedal caps are metal, but this is really just a basic plastic construction, without the stiffness of a great board or more advanced features like a high-end progressive brake.

These wheels are actually part of a system — you can get other steering wheels and more advanced pedal boards, the T3PA and the fab T3PA Pro. Much like with the G29 and G, these Thrustmaster wheels are essentially the same but boast the key difference of working with different consoles. Again, the TX boasts a force feedback system and is considerably quieter than the Logitech G29 with a rubber-grip wheel, but it does lack a lot of the little touches that make the Logitech wheels great - including a more comfortable wheel - and the pedals have some issues.Trusted Reviews may earn an affiliate commission when you purchase through links on our site.

Yes, we know it is one really. The notable part here is the leather. Rival Thrustmaster wheels are coated in rubber as standard, and feel that bit cheaper as a result. However, the upholstery is not quite supercar-grade: there was a bit of flabby flappiness to two parts on the rear. Doing so is a cinch. Related: Xbox One vs Xbox We found it to be per cent plug and play.

It automatically recognises the wheel, which can then be used instantly with games like DriveClub and Project Cars.

No extra set-up is needed. Related: PS4 vs PS3 What we will say, though, is that we were not initially won over by the bright and colourful extra buttons, not found in the Logitech G Those little blue buttons on the front replicate the trigger buttons on a controller, while the red dial allows quick tweaking of certain car parameters.

In all honesty, we did not find much use for it. Related: Best PS4 Games While the base is plastic, the board is substantial, needing less securing than the oldest G-series sets. Each has a different tension style, mirroring what you get in a real car.

The important improvement in the G29 is the brake. Have plenty of space? You might also want to consider the gear shifter add-on.Skip to main content of results for "logitech g27".
